Vision
“A Local Church Based Multifaceted Christian Ministry in every Capital City of Africa.”
The role of a local church based ministry cannot be overemphasized, and the evidence is replete in scripture. It’s our firm conviction that the expression of our Christian faith and community is best fulfilled in a visible local church setting that adheres to the invisible universal Church principles commissioned in the pronouncement of Jesus Christ, when he said, “…I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matt. 16:18).
The local church environment is best suited for mutual accountability of all those involved in the proclamation of the Gospel. It’s in this local church setting that ministries and ministers are nurtured and commissioned, by the affirmation of fellow-believers, who are attuned to the preferences of the Holy Spirit. It was in the local church at Antioch that fellow Christians affirmed the apostle Paul and his colleagues, as the Holy Spirit separated them to special service in the kingdom of God. After Paul and Barnabas completed their ministry journey away from their local church, they returned to Antioch, where they were accountable to the rest of the disciples, and reported on their successful mission.
“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” (Acts 13:2-3)
“From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.” (Acts 14:26-28).
Therefore, as it seems right to us, and we are persuaded, even in the sight of God, we have decided to establish the core-values of our ministry around the New Testament model of a local church supported, nurtured and commissioned evangelistic ministry.
In obedience and honor to the specific parameters, divinely revealed and humbly embraced, we shall commit to the planting of ONLY one MULTIFACETED LOCAL CHURCH, under the direct supervision of Capital Christian Ministries International (CCMI), in each respective capital city of Africa, beginning with Lusaka as our “fountain-head” and international headquarters. We shall withstand, as resiliently as possible, any attempt by external or internal forces or any such temptation, to go beyond the establishment of one local church in each capital city, in violation of this divinely ordained vision.
The ministry outside any one of our individual capital city based local churches, whether it’s within the capital city itself or another city of any African nation, shall be in cooperation and in support of the broader reach of the church of Jesus Christ. We will seek to unite our efforts with other church organizations and ministries, of like-faith, in reaching the rest of the cities in respective African nations.
